James Sainter

BSc (Hons) Podiatry

James graduated from New College Durham in 2015 and since then has had the opportunity to work all over the UK for the NHS including St James' Hospital Leeds and also the Isle of Man. Working within the NHS has taught him all there is to know about diabetic wound care and prevention of diabetic foot problems. Later James took the opportunity to work for myFootDr clinic in rural Cairns Australia where he spent most of his times diagnosing and managing foot pain and sports injuries.

Now James is taking the opportunity to work outside of the NHS to provide professional foot care in his home town of Newcastle.

Your Appointment

When you call for your appointment we will first ask the main reason for your call, such as nail care or hard skin removal, we will then agree a time and day to suit you.

With all appointments we will give a time, but due to the nature of providing home visits this time may change up to 30 minutes either side so please allow sufficient time if you have other plans that day.

During your first appointment (and annually) we will carry out a full assessment of your feet. This includes feeling for the blood vessles in your feet and also checking that you still have the sensations to protect you from sharp objects in your shoes. A full health history is usually required by any qualified podiatrist so it will be very helpful if you have a list of your medications prior to treatment.

Following the assessment you will be advised of what you can do to help prevent further problems with your feet and how you can look after them yourself at home.

Depending on what is required all of your foot care needs will be treated such as cutting of nails, removal of hard skin/callus, checking for ingrown toe nails, verrucae removal, wound redressing and more.

If you do not require any foot care but would like to speak to a podiatrist to have an updated 'Diabetic Annual Review' this is a service we can provide, although this is available via the NHS you can avoid waiting times by choosing Newcastle Podiatry.
